The Village of Lawrence, Michigan is a small, hometown community nestled at he center of Van Buren County. Lawrence is evenly distanced (two and half hours) between Detroit and Chicago and boasts a variety of scenic agricultural farms and picturesque lakes, all within a few miles of the Village. With direct access to I-94, it’s a short drive to Kalamazoo, Detroit or Chicago for world-class universities, specialized health care, entertainment and shopping. Lawrence is the hub for many of Van Buren County functions, including the Van Buren Technology Center, the Van Buren Conference Center, and the Van Buren County Road Commission. With an active community volunteer base, there are many family-oriented annual celebrations and festivals, including the Labor Day Weekend Ox Roast Festival. Lawrence Public Schools provide students with an excellent K-12 educational opportunity in a safe, nurturing setting and offer a host of extracurricular activities including many competitive athletic programs.
